TISS/MHAT Masters in Applied Psychology and Social Work


Tata Institute of Social Sciences (TISS) announces admission to the 2014-16 batch for the MA Social Work in Mental Health (MSW) and M.A Applied Psychology with specialisation in Clinical Psychology offered at the Mental Health Action Trust (MHAT) Calicut. 

Eligibility 
for M.A Social Work (MSW) in Mental Health 
  • A Bachelor’s Degree of a minimum of 3 years duration or its equivalent (under the 10+2+3 or 10+2+4 or 10+2+2+1 year bridge course pattern of study or any other pattern fulfilling the mandatory requirements of 15 years formal education) from a recognized university, in any discipline (graduation in ARTS and Humanities, Science, Social Sciences, Medicine, Nursing and allied fields, Engineering and Technology, Agriculture etc) OR 
  • Candidates who will complete all the requirements of their final year Bachelor’s Degree examinations by Monday, June 9, 2014, are also eligible to apply to all the programmes provided they have successfully completed their first and second years, if the degree course is of 3 years; and the first, second and third years, if the degree course is of 4 years. In such cases, admission to any of the Master’s Degree Programmes of the Institute will be provisional. If a provisionally admitted student fails in the final year examination, the offer of provisional admission automatically stands cancelled. 

for M.A Applied Psychology specialization in Clinical Psychology 
  • Candidates should have completed (i) B.A. Psychology, or (ii) B.A. General, with minimum three papers in Psychology OR 
  • Candidates who will complete all the requirements of their final year Bachelor’s Degree ((i) B.A. Psychology, or (ii) B.A. General, with minimum three papers in Psychology) examinations by Monday, June 9, 2014, are also eligible to apply to all the programmes provided they have successfully completed their first and second years, if the degree course is of 3 years; and the first, second and third years, if the degree course is of 4 years. In such cases, admission to any of the Master’s Degree Programmes of the Institute will be provisional. If a provisionally admitted student fails in the final year examination, the offer of provisional admission automatically stands cancelled. 

    Application Submission: 
      ONLINE application is available in the MHAT website. Complete ONLINE application form, and submit it. Candidates having trouble completing ONLINE application form or lack access to internet services can write to MHAT for printed application form. Complete the application form and submit before last date of submission.
