Applications are invited by Calcutta
University for admission to the Ph.D programme in History, Department
of History, University of Calcutta, 1 Reformatory Street, and Kolkata-
27. Candidates should apply in the prescribed proforma by paying Rs.100/
through a challan obtainable from the College Street campus ( cash
counter).
Eligible candidates will have to
appear in a written examination of two hours duration to be held in the
Department on 18th January 2016 at 1 pm. The list of successful
candidates will be displayed on the Notice Board of the Department on
29th January 2016. They will have to appear for an interview, the date
of which will be notified later on the Departmental Notice Board. The
final selection for joining this programme will be on the basis of the
interview and evaluation of the candidate’s research proposal.
Candidates already qualified in
U.G.C/ (JRF) Examination/ NET/ SET examinations, and those who have
M.Phil degrees from recognized Universities, need not appear at the
written examination and can directly apply to appear for the interview.
All successful candidates ( R.E.T
qualified and qualified in U.G.C/ (JRF) Examination/ NET/ SET
examinations, and those who have M.Phil degrees) will have to submit a
Research Proposal( 1000 words) by 3rd February 2016. Last date for receiving of applications: 4.1.2016
