Eligibility:
M.S(Engg.)/ M.S.(Research):
Candidates with an M Sc., B E, B Tech, M E, M Tech or MBBS are eligible to apply. They should have at least 50% in their highest University examination, and should also have qualified in the GATE / UGC -/ CSIR - NET-JRF / ICMR - JRF / DBT-JRF/JEST / INSPIRE or any other equivalent national level examination. The certificate of such test should have the validity period for seeking admission to research programme as on 1 August 2014.
Ph.D:

Integrated Ph.D (Int.Ph.D) Programme in Materials Science, Chemical Science and Biological Sciences:

Materials Science:
Bachelor’s degree in any branch of Science. Those with Bachelor’s degree in Engineering with an aptitude towards scientific research will also be considered. Candidates are expected to have sound knowledge in the fundamentals of Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics.
Eligibility criteria for Int. Ph.D. Programme:
Materials Science:
Bachelor’s degree in any branch of Science. Those with Bachelor’s degree in Engineering with an aptitude towards scientific research will also be considered. Candidates are expected to have sound knowledge in the fundamentals of Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics.
Chemical Science:
Bachelor’s degree in any branch of Science with Chemistry as a major and mathematics as a subject at least up to PUC (10+2 level).
Bachelor’s degree in any branch of Science with Chemistry as a major and mathematics as a subject at least up to PUC (10+2 level).
Biological Sciences:
This is offered in two disciplines
(a) Evolutionary and Organismal Biology: Bachelor’s degree in any branch of Science/Mathematics/Statistics. Those with Bachelor’s degree in Engineering with an aptitude towards scientific research will also be considered.
(b) Molecular Biology and Genetics: Bachelor’s degree in any branch of Science.
For all the above Int. Ph.D. programmes, candidates should have a minimum of 55% marks at the Bachelor’s level. Those appearing for the final examination this year can also apply.
