In the event of less than 20 candidates applying for appearing at a particular Centre, exam would be held at that Centre and candidates would be allotted the Centre of their second/third choice.
Eligibility for admission to various Programmes:
a) M.Phil.-Ph.D in Chemical Sciences, Life Sciences, Environment and Sustainable Development, and Nano Sciences: Master's degree in any discipline of Sciences
b) M.Phil.-Ph.D in all other (Nano-Science) programmes: Master's degree in any discipline
c) M.Sc: Bachelor's degree in any discipline
d) M.A. and M.L.I.Sc.: Bachelor's degree in any discipline
e) M.A (Five Year Integrated): Higher Secondary School Certificate (10+2) or equivalent
Note: Candidates appearing in the final year of qualifying examination can also apply
Reservation of Seats:
Seat reservation for SC-15%; ST-7%; OBC-27; Differently-abled (PH) 3%. For Kashmiri Migrant students: increase in intake capacity up to 5% - course wise (as per Govt. rules)
Appearance in more than one Entrance Exam: Candidates can apply for more than one subject in the same application form provided they are eligible. A candidate may opt for a maximum of three subjects for entrance examinations of his/her choice. But before opting for this choice the candidate should see the schedule or examination and ensure that there is no clash between the three opted Entrance Examination Schedules (opted examinations should not fall in the same session)

a) The entrance fee for appearing for one programme is:
(1) General Candidate: Rs.500/-
(2) OBC (Only Non-Creamy-Layer) Candidate: Rs.250/-
(3) SC/ST Candidate: Rs.100/-
(4) Differently-abled Candidate: Exempted
(5) Wards of Kashmiri migrant: Exempted
b) For appearing in two or more programmes, the fee will be:
(1) General Candidate: Rs.600/-
(2) OBC (Only Non-Creamy Layer) Candidate: Rs.325/-
(3) SC/ST Candidate: Rs.150/-
(4) Differently-abled Candidate: Exempted
(5) Wards of Kashmiri migrant: Exempted
