Regional Institute of Education, Mysore, a unit of NCERT, New Delhi; Ministry of MHRD, Govt of India, has invited applications for admission to the two year (4 semesters), Master of Education (MEd), for 2015-16. Medium of instruction is English.
Eligibility: Applicant should have a pass in Bed / BScEd / BAEd / MScEd or equivalent degree with 50% marks in aggregate. Relaxation of 5% marks is available for SC and ST candidates. Admissions to MEd programme is restricted to candidates having domicile in the states of Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Telengana and the Union Territories of Puducherry and Lakshadweep, as per the quota ear marked for each State/Union Territory. As a proof of eligibility of state / UT for admission, the candidate has to produce any one of the following documents (i) Evidence of having passed the qualifying examination from the State /UT (ii) In case the legal guardian / parent is an employee of state / central Govt. / Govt. of India, undertaking / Autonomous bodies, the latest place of posting (iii) A domicile certificate from the competent authority.
Reservation: Seats are reserved for SC (15%), ST (7.5%), OBC (27%)% and PH (3%). Any other reservation as per latest Government of India norms will also be available. Those applying under reservation quota will be considered only on the basis of list notified by Government of India and the community certificate / PH certificate in the format provided by Government of India and issued by the State Government / UT.
Children of Defence Personnel must produce employer's certificate from the concerned officer at the time of applying for admission.
Scholarship: NCERT Scholarships of Rs.1200/- per month are available for Scheduled Caste/ Schedule Tribe students admitted to the Institute, provided they are not receiving financial assistance from any other source. 50% of the students excluding SC / ST category are awarded scholarship on merit cum means as per NCERT rules at Rs. 1,200/- pm. ln addition to this, 20% of the remaining students will be awarded free-ship as per rules. The selected candidates should submit parental Income Certificate at the time of admission. Scholarship / Freeship are linked to parental income.
As per NCERT rules, a tuition fee of Rs.300/- pm is payable by each student. SC/ST students are exempt from payment of tuition fee.
Separate hostel facilities are available for boys and girls. An amount of Rs.2,000/- towards hostel charges per semester and an amount of Rs.10,500/- towards mess deposit per semester will be collected at the time of admission.
Application: Application form can be downloaded from the website www.riemysore.ac.in. It can be collected in person/by post from the Institute.
Duly filled in application form along with a Demand Draft of Rs.500/- (Rs.250/- for SC / ST / PH) from any Nationalized bank drawn in favour of Principal, RlE, Mysore, payable at Mysore and attested copies of certificates should be sent by Registered Post AD to ‘The Section Officer, Academic Section, Regional Institute of Education, Mysore-570006’.
Application form will be available in person / by post from 20th July to 7th August 2015. The last date for receipt of completed application forms is 7th August 2015.
Entrance Test will be between 10 and 11 am on 14.8.2015 (Friday). Results will be declared on 17.8.2015. Admissions will be on 19.8.2015. Classes will commence on 20.8.2015.
List of selected candidates will be announced on www.riemysore.ac.in. Communication will also be sent by post.
